YSL New Fall Winter Collection
Inspired by their classic fragrance Opium, the new fall winter colours by French cosmetic (designer) brand YSL defines the new collection as ‘opulent,
provocative, an explosion of colours, extreme shades that bring out the true
seductress’. Taking her inspiration from the orient of Opium, Linda Cantello, Artistic Advisor for Yves Saint Laurent Make-Up, takes the basic theme of lacquer and offers two new creations: Ombre Solo Double- Effet and Collector Powder Palette Signes D’orient (complexion and eyes). The Look: Defined as HARMONY N° 1, the look comprises of Intense eyes rimmed with violet, subtly smoky and drawn out towards the temples. The Chinese influence is very apparent in the porcelain complexion, and lacquer red on the lips. The second look on the other hand, (HARMONY N° 2) has a ‘barely there makeup effect’.
Ombre Solo Double-Effet- These new YSL monochrome eye shadows offer two
finishes, depending on the effect chosen - satin/matte or pearly/satin. There are 6 shades available Satin Rose, pearly and satiny pink, Damask Violet, Silk Blue, Mink Brown, Pink Chiffon, and Velvet Suede. The range also consists of Limited edition Palette Signes D’orient Collector Powder Complexion And Eyes in three shades. Active Ingredient – Sublimage contains patented polyfractionated PFA* active ingredient- basically utilizing the process of polyfractioning of the molecules of Vanilla Planifolia, from the island of Madagascar, to produce Planifolia PFA.*
Polyfractioning is a scientific “stripping” technique that isolates a tiny core from thousands of molecules. Due to polyfractioning , the level of polyketones contained in the planifolia PFA active ingredient is multiplied by 42 compared with the primary extract of Vanilla Planifolia. Shiseido adds to Advanced Skin Care Portfolio
Japanese prestige brand, Shiseido launched the ‘Ultimate Skin Renewal System’ comprising of the Super Exfoliating Discs and a Super Refining Essence. The Super Exfoliating Disc are said to ‘closely mimic the skin’s natural cell exfoliation process’, acting only on the surface layer of the skin, the discs provide a relatively safe way of exfoliating horny cells. Active Ingredients: Super Exfoliating Discs have been formulated with Bio- Exfoliderm, an ingredient exclusively developed by Shiseido. Bio-Exfoliderm is a triple-action compound made up of three ingredients — a brewers yeast extract ; TMG, a natural phytogenic ingredient extracted from sugar beets, and rice bran. Of the three, the brewers yeast extract has the most potent effect on softening the skin’s horny layer, while it enhances the effect of TMG. One side of the discs is covered in natural silk, and is meant to be particularly gentle on the skin while the Shiseido adds to Advanced Skin Care Portfolio textured cotton side has a more intense exfoliating effect. While less aggressive than a professional microdermabrasion treatment, the discs attempt to give skin a well polished feel.

L’Oreal Professional Division’s luxury brand Kerastase, has launched the first heat activated treatment service for extremely sensitised hair. - Kérathermie a service that involves a heat layering process to renew and revitalise extremely sensitised or damaged hair. Kérathermie uses a combination of layered treatments, whose actives are sealed by heat into hair. It treats hair with a calculated amount of heat. The heat action is meant to smoothen and discipline uncontrollable hair, enhance softness and bring gleam to the hair.
