Skin Essentials Opens with two centres in Mumbai
Dr.Rohini Wadhwani launched ‘Skin Essentials’ - two clinics in
Mumbai at Bandra and Juhu which claim to offer the most state
of the art technologies for skin & beauty treatments.
Wadhwani comes with experience from a chain of aesthetic
clinics in London: Bare Necessity. She is said to have expertise in
laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation, having launched the
first Bare Necessity outlet in 2003. The brand is now being relaunched
as Skin Essentials.
The clinic positions itself as one of the first clinics to offer‘customized treatments as per skin colours and types’.
Some special treatments include- Cocoabutter Facials and the
Sebum control Treatments for Acne prone & Oily Skin; Collagen
Facial and Vitamin C treatment for anti-Ageing etc. and besides
Botox, non-invasive treatments such as laser hair removal,
hydradermie, microdermabrasion, and others.
For men, Skin

for the glabella,
ears (instead of
threading) etc.
also very good for
ingrown hairs on
the beard areas
and
microdermabrasion, Skin polishing, deep cleansing for
blackheads on the nose, sun- tan removal treatment and Antiageing

Thalgo Unfolds New Treatments & products
French Professional skincare brand Thalgo known for it’s sea
derived ingredients, presented a fusion of treatments from the
East & the West in what they termed as the Indoceane- a set of
treatments that start from a signature theme in the
Mediterranean and end with the Chinese whitening body wrap.
The products are said to comprise of two key ingredients- Qi –
Marine (a brown alga Undaria pinnatifida extract) and Lotus
flower, that help the products and the process to combine to
induce complete cellular stress relieving action.
Indoceane consists of a 4- step Ritual, wherein, the first step
comprises of Mediterranean Ritual of body exfoliation.
Combined with the heat of steam for deep dead skin removal
Qi- Marine, lotus, brown sugar, salt and essential oils of the
Mediterranean are blended together and the calming citrus
notes (Lemon, Green Mandarin, Grapefruit. This is followed by
Egyptian Ritual of the milk bath. It has delicate fruity fragrance
(peach, melon) and subtle scents of sandalwood and vanilla.

The third step is inspired by
Ayurveda- a two-fold
massage Ritual before
starting to work with oil, a
vitalization technique using
the Qi- balm is then
followed by massage using
the ‘Phyto’Massage Oil that is
a blend of Relaxing Essential
Oils (Cedar, Sandalwood,
patchouli ) and Indian
Medicinal Oil.
The final step is the Subliminal Wrap that uses the essence of
iris and jasmine over a base of sandalwood and white musk.
The product is said to be rich in bran oil, to regenerate the body
and restore softness.
The brand also offers a range of Home Care products
The Brand in India: Thalgo is currently present at 12 salons
and spas in five star hotels in th country. According to Natalie
Kuklina, Spa Manager and Director Thalgo-India “we are taking
time to educate and train the professionals before unrolling the
brand in any outlet”. The brand also carries out online training
for two weeks every year besides on-site training programmes.
On whether the brand was modifying it’s original base of sea
ingredients in this new product line- “ the key ingredient is Qi-
Marine- derived from a brown alga” informs Eva Gross
Stephan, Asia Pacific Area Manager, Thalgo. She emphasizes
that “Thalgo is amongst the top 5 French professional brands
and is a pioneer in the fact that it was one of the first to
promote spa treatments and hydrotherapy, when it was not so
fashionable to do so over 25 years ago”.

Kanpur and Ludhiana
Ace Hairstylist and Trainer, Harish Bhatia, known for blindfold
haircuts conducted seminars in Kanpur and
Ludhiana
respectively that
comprised of
basic to
advanced
haircuts, styling
and colouring
techniques. The
shows included
cuts like ‘miyuki’
and ‘savage’ and was
attended by nearly 200 interested salon owners and members.
Kanta And Anees deliver Wella
sponsored HIP Seminar
Hair India People, the Mumbai based hair dresser’s association
held their bi-monthly Seminar with members and leading hair
stylists Kanta Motwani and Anees Muss bringing forth a
collection of hair styling and colouring techniques entitled the
Lounge Collection. The collection focused on trendy styles that
reflected attitude of the wearer
and could be easily adjusted and
styled for evening or day wear.
Kanta Motwani is a celebrity
stylist with her own salon chain
Kromakay and has trained with
Toni & Guy (UK) for hair and
Fredricques (Hong Kong) and
MAC for makeup.
Anees Muss has trained with
Vidal Sassoon and Saks, London.
The event
brought
together 175
hairdressers
largely from
the Mumbai
region.
The event was
