Retreat in Rishikesh – Panambi Resort & Spa

Panambi Resort & Spa in Rishikesh recently opened its doors to guests looking for a quiet retreat away from their busy city lives. Beauty Launchpad’s Isha Gakhar spent two-days at the property to experience its wellness offerings, which indeed was a much-needed breather for those who lead a hectic work life.

If you are planning a digital detox, the lack of network connectivity at this location should make it easier to follow-through. Panambi Resort & Spa can very well offer you alternative methods to pass the time including safaris, river rafting and other activities that could be arranged on request.

As for the wellness offerings, Panambi is equipped with a two-room spa focussed on Ayurvedic massages. The Abhyanga massage lasts up to 45 minutes, wherein a custom blend of natural oils are used to address the guests’ specific needs. It is a thorough recharger for the body and pain-reliever, with the healing oils working together to relieve stress and toxins from the mind and body.

Panambi Resorts, a venture of Panambi Vacations, is expecting a growth of 25-40% in upcoming months with its strategic marketing and promotional activities for the new property. Located inside the Rajaji National Park, between Rishikesh and Haridwar, the resort is within easy access of the River Ganga and Chilla Ganga Canal, and offers 35 rooms, a swimming pool, kids play area, open lawns, and a restaurant, thus appealing to both leisure and business travellers.

Neeraj Gupta, Founder of Panambi Vacations, discussed the property’s wellness offerings with us:

What is the focus of Panambi Spa?
We are expecting a lot of clients from Delhi-NCR; there are a lot of people living stressful lives in the city due to pollution, traffic jam, etc. and our resort is a perfect getaway close to nature. Spa is a therapy familiar to India, since ancient times — we call it malish or massage; it is touch therapy that has been an Ayurvedic practice for hundreds of years. Hence, we are focusing on Ayurvedic spa treatments and hired a therapist with knowledge of different levels in ayurvedic massages. We also use natural Ayurvedic products like oils and salts, and recommend personalised treatments as per each guest’s concerns. My vision for this property is to transform it into an Ayurvedic centre.

What has gone into hiring and training the therapist?
We have a trained therapist — she is well-travelled and has extensive experience with international exposure as well. We are also looking to expand by hiring more staff to work under her. She will be training the new employees, especially in particular skills needed to realise our goal of transitioning from spa to Ayurvedic centre.

What are the next steps – any plans to introduce a salon as well?
We are not keen to enter the salon business; spa treatments are our focus area. We want to convert all Panambi Resorts in the future, into treatment centres where guests come to relieve their stress — not only through spa treatments but also yoga and other therapies.
