Star Academy Convocation & Faceoff Championship Held

Star Hair & Make-up Academy, helmed by makeup expert Ashmeen Munjal, organises a ‘Faceoff Championship’ alongside their annual convocation ceremony. This year, the 4th Season of the graduation event held Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi, showcased wedding makeovers, fantasy makeovers, and hair designing done by the Star Academy students.

The championship was judged by a jury of renowned names from various fields including Bollywood & TV actor Aman Yatan Verma, artist Anjanna Kuthiala, fashion designer Amit Talwar, fashion designer & social activist Prreeti Ghai, life coach Dr Roman Lamba, celebrity life & pageant Coach and author Rita Gangwani, makeup & hair artist Dr Sangeeta Chauhan, fashion choreographer Liza Verma, celebrity diet & nutrition expert Varun Katyal, and managing director of Sky Walk Productions Manish Sachdev.

The winners and runners-up were presented with trophies and cash prizes. More than 300 students of Star Makeup and Hair Academy branches in Delhi – Pusa Road, Pitampura, Kamla Nagar, Preet Vihar, and South Extension – participated in various categories of the competition.

“Face-off Championship is always an amalgamation of imagination and creation. This is all about the different levels of make-up artists and hair teams. This championship has three different rounds for our students of technical, make-up, and hairdo. We give them a chance to show off their creativity. Starting with Qila in Chattarpur, we went on to Siri Fort and now, for the very first time, the Faceoff Championship was held at a stadium. I am glad more than 5000 people assembled and showcased their work to the Indian makeup & hair industry. Winners of this championship will get a chance to hone their skill further and showcase their work in Shanghai, China, next year,” commented Ashmeen Munjal.

“We are also launching ‘Revolution 2020’ – a tie-up with Nivee Academy in Canada, where we are giving our students a chance to do an internship abroad. The faculty at Nivee Academy will help them hone their technical and creative skills further,” she added.
